The Collection
A beautiful collection of nostalgic landscapes, these paintings capture not only beautiful memories, but also the eternal love and beauty of our creator. Last summer, and again this year, I was able to spend time in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is a beautiful area where nature abounds. It was peaceful, mesmerizing moments in God's beautiful creation that inspired these paintings. His love is evergreen - eternal, ever-lasting, always present.
The Process
When creating this collection, I wanted to capture the feeling of the moments I had experienced. For that reason, I chose to use a palette different from the true images. I carefully selected images from pictures I had taken, then edited them to a split tone. This allowed me to consider the contrast of the image as I infused the warmth of the moments into the paintings.
